Part A: Conduct an Expert Review of a Web Site For this part: Conduct a usab

Part A: Conduct an Expert Review of a Web Site
For this part:
Conduct a usability test in the form of an expert review of the Penny Juice site www.pennyjuice.com. Use Nielsen’s 1995 article, “10 Usability Heuristics for User Interface Design,” https://www.nngroup.com/articles/ten-usability-heuristics/ To give you a frame of reference for your expert review, pretend you are a customer of Penny Juice. As the parent of an active 8-year-old planning a children’s birthday party, your goal is to have 96 ounces of orange-pineapple juice available for the guests.
Go through the user flow of the site to find the product you are looking for and pretend to order it.
Stop short of entering personal and payment information.
Use your experience performing this task to help you complete the usability evaluation.
Your expert review of the Penny Juice Web site should:
Articulate best practices for layout and style.
Demonstrate how human factors should shape interface design.
Part B: Create a One-Page Test Plan
Use Travis’s “1-Page Usability Test Plan or to re-create this content.
Return your focus to your own prototype (instead of the Web site for Part A). For this part:
Create a usability test plan that would—if you performed it—predict the quality of your users’ experience with your own online food ordering system.
Write your plan on the Word document you already started for Part A. Travis, in the “1-Page Usability Test Plan,” describes an agile, one-page test plan that can help you think through the process of testing your food ordering user experience design.
Think carefully through the areas described in the plan, and develop a summary of a test plan that will work for the food ordering system. Required categories include:
Product under test.
Test objectives.
Participants.
Test tasks.
Responsibilities.
Business case.
Equipment.
Location and dates.
Procedure
Part C: Explore Strategies for Cross-Cultural and Mobile Platform Design
Write a reflection on the following topics.
Mobile Applications
Be sure to address both of the topics below:
Describe best design methods for converting your Web-based application into a mobile application. Consider what it would take to convert your Web-based food ordering system to a mobile platform.
What are some of the challenges you face in converting a Web-based application to a mobile application in terms of user experience design?
How is the user experience likely to be impacted if the food ordering system is delivered on a mobile platform?
Describe key human factors that should be considered when converting a Web-based application into a mobile application. In your analysis, address at least three of the human factors you explore in this course, as well as accessibility considerations.
Cultural Differences
Assume you have converted your food ordering system to a mobile platform, and the restaurant owner has decided to open an identical restaurant in rural Russia.
Describe additional changes you would make to your user interface design to address the needs of a new persona that is part of Russian culture, and to provide an engaging user experience.
Accounting for Human Factors
The development of products and systems for use by humans presents a unique set of challenges, many of which involve human factors that must be considered in the design process. The Designing With the Mind in Mind text discusses a wide variety of human factors and how they should be taken into account during design.
Reflect on your experience with user interfaces and the design work you completed as part of this course. What do you feel are the most important elements of designing for human users that you will be sure to take forward with you in your IT career? Address some of the following topics (your choice):
The implications of past experience, current context, and future goals of your user groups for the design of a system.
The influence that your own experiences and context might have on your design choices, and preferences you might have for a good interface that may not be true for others.
The Gestalt principles and their impact on user interface design.
Visual structure of a system and its impact on user experience.
Useful and important roles of color in the design of an interactive experience.
Information display and reading, and attention span in the user’s physical environment, as well as memory and behavioral patterns.
Factors regarding human recognition and recall, support for user activities, and facilitation of human learning.

This is the topic chosen that needs to be discussed:
For my course project, I am planning to focus on promoting natural social and mating behaviors of cheetahs at the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) in Namibia. From what I have gathered, the goal of CCF is to create a world sustainable for the flourishment and success of cheetahs while also coexisting with the unavoidable human impact surrounding their habitats. One of the facets of this mission means focusing on the reproductive health and mating abilities of cheetahs. They already struggle in the wild with high infancy mortality rates, so if we can effectively support release of more cheetahs into the wild through artificial insemination, then hopefully this endangered species may stand a fighting chance. Although I know they hope that most of the cheetahs taken in can be released back into the wild, not all of them are able (for behavioral or medical reasons). A big problem with studying mating behaviors of both the pre-released and resident cheetahs at CCF can be the anxiety that they experience in any sort of captive setting.
Cheetahs are naturally more high-strung than most big cats, but human interaction can cause their anxiety to peak. When animals, including cheetahs, experience high levels of anxiety, natural behaviors, such as mating, do not occur.
My suggestion for CCF is to consider introducing ‘therapy’ dogs into the environment and pairing each of the cheetahs with their own. Many wildlife centers around the world have found that cheetahs will form a strong bond with an emotional support dog at a young age, and they will begin feeding off their energy in situations that would have otherwise caused them immense stress. I believe that if CCF implemented a pairing like this with their own cats, they may find more success in their endeavors to observe and track the mating cycles for their reproductive research. It is difficult to mimic natural behaviors in wild animals when they are not in their natural habitats, so I believe that any opportunity to decrease their stress and resume more natural behavior should be considered.

Learning Goal: I’m working on a history writing question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.
Answer the below questions with one substantial paragraph per answer (minimum 4 sentences, maximum 200 words). The first sentence should provide a specific answer to the whole question. The rest of the paragraph should provide information and quotes drawn from assigned reading in order to provide examples that support your answer.
According to Vol. 1, Chap. 6 (Links to an external site.) of Who Built America?, what are some of the ways that African Americans (both those who were enslaved and those whom the text calls “free blacks”) challenged the institution of slavery in the U.S., and how did slave owners respond to those challenges? Your answer should be two paragraphs, one paragraph to answer each part of question, with at least one example per paragraph. (40% of grade)
According to the “A Transformation Begins (Links to an external site.)” section of Vol. 1, Chap. 7 of Who Built America?, who benefited and who struggled as a result of the shift away from household and subsistence production to factory and market production in the northern U.S. in the early 19th century? As part of your answer, summarize the text’s explanation for why these groups benefited or struggled. (20% of grade)
According Vol. 1, Chap. 8 (Links to an external site.) of Who Built America?, what was “middle class reform” politics and what role did women play in it? What was “radical reform” politics and why was the abolition of slavery central to it? Your answer should be two paragraphs, one paragraph to answer each part of question, with at least one example per paragraph. (40% of grade)
Write about one of these two films shown in class this past week: “Daughters of Free Men” (shown Wednesday, August 10), or the excerpt from Episode 1 of the Abolitionists (shown Friday, August 12). In your writing, answer the question of how the film explained the development of a new social movement in the 1830s (either the labor movement or abolitionism). The first paragraph should identify what the film presented as the causes for people to form labor unions or abolitionist societies. The second paragraph should identify how the film supported its arguments (interviews, dramatic reenactments, music, etc). Both paragraphs should provide specific examples to support their claims.
Identifying and Citing Sources
When quoting a text, you must identify in your writing who or what you are quoting—for example, the text itself, the name and title of a person quoted in the text, the name of an historical figure referenced in the text, the title and date of a document that runs alongside the main text, etc. If the meaning of the quote is not obvious, you should analyze and/ or explain the quote’s meaning and how it helps support your argument.
For questions 1-3, it will be assumed that the textbook Who Built America? is the source for your writing. Therefore you do not need to cite it for this assignment.
For assignment 4, when quoting a documentary you must identify in your writing who or what you are quoting— for example, the narrator of the documentary, the name, and title of a person interviewed by the documentary, the name of a historical figure, a particular document, etc.
You should not use outside sources (including web sites) for this assignment. But if you do, you must cite those outside sources using footnotes or endnotes formatted according to the Chicago Manual of Style: https://www.chicagomanualofstyle.org/tools_citationguide/citation-guide-1.html (Links to an external site.)
Failure to place verbatim text from sources in quotes, failure to cite outside sources, or having someone complete your assignment for you are forms of plagiarism and violations of the student code. Students who are found to have plagiarized will receive a zero for the assignment, and no opportunity to redo the assignment. This can make it difficult for a student to pass the course.
