The purpose of this assignment is to create an outline of topics and sub-topics that you intend to cover in your final written report of your case study. The structure of your outline is entirely up to you, but it should include at least the following sections:
Section 1: Case Background (2pts)
Provide a detailed overview of what the subject of the case study experienced (1pt). Include sub-sections that you deem appropriate (1pt). Sub-sections may include: Rationale for the case. Detailed description of the events of the case study
Relevant participant background/characteristics, Review of the environmental conditions. Any other unique factors?
Section 2: Physiology (4pts)
Provide an organized breakdown of the main thermophysiological concepts that relate to your case. (4pts). You have a lot of flexibility in this section, but you must have at least four sub-section, which may include: Effects on the heat balance equation. Thermo effectors leading to heat loss or heat storage as related to the case. Effects on deep body temperature. Effects on cognitive function. Effects on performance Other?
Section 3: Lessons learned (2pts)
Provide an organized breakdown of the main lessons learned from the case. (2pts).
Reflect on the case study and consider what lessons were learned, both by the subject of the case report, and from a thermoregulatory perspective.
You must have at least two sub-sections. Possible sub-sections: Phases of a marine disaster, Overview of cooling strategies/warming strategies. Clothing choices
