We’ve now read a number of texts emphasizing the importance of “remembering your audience.” However, we’ve also read some texts discussing the possible problems when we make assumptions about a given audience. So to expand our conversation, I’m interested in the following questions: Once we have begun to consider audience as a fundamental aspect of writing, how do we go about getting to know our audience in order to avoid stereotypes and false assumptions?
