Professor said:This week we are completing our first Case Study: Alibaba. Please keep in mind this assignment consists of three parts all of which are completed through Connect. Part 1 and Part 2 are both multiple choice questions and Part 3 is a short essay. The writing prompts are in Connect above the text box where the essay should be submitted. I have pasted them here for reference:
What realistic solutions can Alibaba implement to keep up its growth trajectory? Which solution would be the best fit with the current actions of the company?
The rubric seems to be missing from the Assignments page (21 points content | 9 points structure (spelling, grammar, citations). As a reminder from the Instructions, your essay should be 350 words, with proper spelling and grammar, and appropriate citations where applicable, and formatting is not taken into consideration as the submission is within a text box. I suggest writing your essay in Word or another word processing software application and then copy/pasting into the textbox.
Looking Ahead – Week 6 will contain our Case Study: Tesla Assignment: Creating Effective Organizational Designs (7–10-page paper).
Tip 1 – The Instructions refer to page 323 of the text. The numbers at the top left of the text <## of 223> are not page numbers. The page numbers are the on right hand side within the text, it will say Page 323 and be between two green lines. If you go to Contents and select Ch 10, then scroll down and select “Why Was the Ambidextrous Organization the Most Effective Structure?” that will take you to page 323 (or <96 of 223> in the top left) and the ISSUES FOR DEBATE section. The ISSUES FOR DEBATE section will contain minimal information about Tesla, there really is no full up Case Study for Tesla in the text but snippets of the organization can be found throughout. Much of the research of the organization will come from sources outside of the text.
